An international volunter
This month, we had the pleasure of welcoming Melissa Camara, a young Brazilian woman, to our school. Melissa is an international volunteer participating in a program that allows her to spend time in different schools across France. During her stay, she engaged with our students, sharing her experiences and knowledge.
Melissa is currently studying at a research institute in Brazil. Her visit to our school was part of her year-long journey to experience and learn about education in our country.
During her time with us, Melissa got involved in various projects. On her first two days, she visited different classes to introduce herself and engage with the students. She presented her country, Brazil, and taught our students about the many cultural differences between our two nations. Through her presentations, students were able to see the beautiful landscapes of Brazil, learn about its cuisine, and even pick up a few words in Portuguese.
Melissa also shared her experiences as an international volunteer. She discussed what it feels like to study in another country and the excitement and challenges of discovering new cultures.
Since Melissa arrived in October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, she participated in our annual Charity Run on her last day. She ran alongside our students, cheering them on and contributing to the spirited atmosphere of the event.
Although Melissa was with us for a short time, she greatly enriched our students’ lives. Through her presence, our students discovered Brazil, a country previously unfamiliar to them. Her visit helped open their eyes to new cultures and broadened their horizons.
